Description

Welcome to Baron Voodoo, an engaging dice game where you don't roll the dice! You're a Loa, a voodoo god aiming to become the new god of death, replacing Baron Samedi. To take his place, you must catch more souls in one night than the other Loas. Catching a soul seems simple at first: move one of your colored dice to catch another. But after this move, there are many optional actions that make the game highly strategic. You can pay one skull to change a die's face, apply the power of a die's face, pay 2 skulls for a new turn, or validate your dice combo by placing them on your player board's spirit world to boost your score. As a Loa, you have special powers. You can use them for free at the start or end of your turn, or pay one skull to use another player's power. During the game, catching a certain number of 'special white game' pieces can make you the 'Baron Samedi' and let you use all powers for free. The game ends when a player reaches 18, 15, or 12 points, depending on the number of players. After that, all dice go to the spirit world to check color majorities and determine the new Baron Samedi. This game is for 2 - 4 players, takes about 45 minutes to play, and is suitable for ages 10 and up.

How to play Baron Voodoo: First, each player becomes a Loa. The goal is to catch more souls than other players in one night to replace Baron Samedi as the god of death. To catch a soul, move one of your colored dice to catch another. After that, you have several options. You can pay one skull to change a die's face, use the power on a die's face, pay 2 skulls for an extra turn, or put your dice combo on the spirit world of your player board to increase your score. Your Loa has special powers that you can use for free at the start or end of your turn, or pay one skull to use another player's power. If you catch enough 'special white game' pieces, you become the 'Baron Samedi' and can use all powers for free. The game ends when a player reaches a certain number of points (18, 15, or 12, depending on the number of players). Then, all dice go to the spirit world to check color majorities. Things to note: Make sure to keep track of your skulls and the number of points you and other players have. Also, pay attention to the 'special white game' pieces. Maintenance: Keep the dice and game board clean and dry. Store them in a safe place when not in use to avoid losing any pieces.
